"Don't Hire A DJ Until You Ask These Six Questions"

1) What type of party experience does your disc jockey have? Many mobile DJ's started in dance clubs, where their primary job was mixing records, not hosting or entertaining. The best DJ's are in fact "Party Hosts" with great personality, stage presence and interactive events designed to entertain your guests and promote party fun!

2) At what types of events does your disc jockey regularly play? Does your DJ normally appear at teen parties and backyard barbecues? Or formal weddings and corporate events? Make sure your disc jockey has the experience and background to entertain diverse age groups with the professional knowledge of blending the music your group likes most.

3) Can your disc jockey supply local references? The quality of your disc jockey entertainment can mean the success or failure of your event. Be careful! Make sure the references supplied are not only for the DJ company you hire, but for the individual disc jockey that will appear at your event. Sometimes larger DJ companies will supply a glowing letter of recommendation from a party, but the DJ who hosted the event might no longer work for the company.

4) Is the price of your disc jockey a good value? The cheapest priced DJ is rarely the best value. You are choosing the person who will share the spotlight with your guest of honor; helping set the tone for your entire event and the enjoyment of your guests. Why try to save a few dollars only to be disappointed with a less than professional performance? Months after your event, will your guests be talking about how good the finger sandwiches were or that an inexperienced bargain DJ ruined the party?

5) What type of equipment will your disc jockey use? Is it modern, professional and powerful enough for your hall? Is it presented attractively in cases, or will your DJ simply pile his equipment on a banquet table? Will the appearance of the equipment complement your decorations, or have exposed wires for all to see?

6) Will your DJ play a wide variety of music? Your DJ should have the experience to "read" your crowd and sequence the artists and titles your guests will respond to best throughout your event. Will they use compact discs, a computer, special DJ vinyl remixes, ipod or poorly recorded cassette tapes? Make sure your DJ is familiar with the most-requested types of music and has a good selection of all.
